charting the way ahead
We exist to glorify God as a Jesus-centered community
on a Jesus-centered mission.
Our biblical vision is a picture of the destination we pursue and WHY we exist as a church.
This vision captures God's 3-fold purpose of the church, as described in the Bible:
Upward for worship
First, we look upward to worship Jesus, the radiance of the glory of God,
who upholds the universe by the word of his power (Hebrews 1:3).
To be Jesus-centered means that everything we do magnifies the name of Jesus!
Inward for community
Secondly, we who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Now we are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.
Our church life is family life: loving, caring, bearing burdens, helping each other grow closer to Jesus.
Outward for mission
Thirdly, as the Father sent His Son, Jesus into the world, so Jesus sends us to tell others the Gospel or Good News of Jesus. We seek to demonstrate the Gospel through practical acts of love and mercy and declare the Gospel message of freedom and forgiveness.
To make and grow disciples of Jesus in our church, community, and world.
Our mission serves as our map; it's WHAT we do and WHERE we pursue our vision.
This is the way we put into practice our Lord's Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20):
